There’s comfort in every jar.
Join herbalist and homesteader Sarah, The Green Goddess, for a cozy, confidence-building afternoon learning the traditional art of making and preserving bone broth. This hands-on workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to bring old-fashioned nourishment back into their kitchen while learning the safe, simple steps of pressure canning.
Together, we’ll demystify the process of using a pressure canner — no explosions here, just empowerment! — and explore how to craft deeply mineral-rich bone broth using bones from locally raised animals, organic herbs and spices, medicinal mushrooms, kelp, and other "secret" ingredients to draw out every trace of goodness.
You’ll learn how to:
-
Prepare a nutrient-dense, flavourful bone broth at home
-
Use and maintain a pressure canner safely (without fear!)
-
Understand the medicinal properties of the herbs, mushrooms, and minerals in your broth
-
Customize your recipe for beef or poultry
During class, we'll enjoy warm tastings of pre-made bone broth, and you'll receive detailed recipes and notes to recreate the process in your own kitchen.
Each participant will go home with:
-
A printed recipe and step-by-step canning guide
-
Educational notes on herbs, mushrooms, and kelp for nourishment
- The confidence and knowledge to safely begin pressure canning bone broth at home
This cozy, educational experience is perfect for anyone wanting to gain confidence in pressure canning while deepening their connection to traditional foodways and seasonal nourishment.
